☕ Open Air Homes Coffee & Tea Station

A Thoughtful Start to Your Morning

If you’re waking up in an Open Air Home, chances are you’re staring at more coffee-making tools than you’ve seen in a long time — and that’s by design.

Our Coffee & Tea Station isn’t just about caffeine. It’s an invitation to slow down, experiment, and discover something new.

Why did we create the Coffee & Tea Station?

A way to relax at home

Southern California is filled with incredible cafés, but there’s something uniquely relaxing about brewing your own cup in a home that feels like yours — even if just for a short stay.

A chance to try something new

Many guests have never used a French press, Chemex, or frother before staying with us. We see that as a gift: an opportunity to experiment without pressure — and maybe find your next favorite morning ritual.

What does the setup look like in each home?

Organized and intentional design

The tray (whether walnut, black or white) centers the setup, keeping everything displayed beautifully. Glass Jars store beans, teas, and sweeteners so you can quickly find what you need — even pre-caffeine.

Consistency across homes

Every property includes at least two brewing methods, with many offering four or more. What’s consistent is quality, design, and ease of use.

What brewing methods might you find?

Drip Coffee Maker

Most homes feature a Cuisinart Coffee Maker. Simple, reliable, effective.

French Press

We use the Bodum French Press.

  • Coarse grind. Two tablespoons per 6 oz water.
  • Water just off the boil.
  • Stir gently. Steep 4 minutes.
  • Press slowly. Pour and enjoy.
Chemex

The pour-over classic. Clean and smooth.

  • Place filter. Rinse with hot water.
  • Add medium-coarse grounds.
  • Pour in slow circles.
  • Let bloom 30 seconds. Continue pouring.
Nespresso Machine

Fast and flavorful. Pair with the Nespresso Frother for lattes or cappuccinos in under two minutes.

Keurig

Some homes include a Keurig for quick convenience. We prefer more sustainable methods when possible.

Electric Gooseneck Kettle

The Bodum Gooseneck Kettle gives controlled flow for French press and pour-over.

  • Caffeine-free: Republic of Tea Chamomile Rose — floral, calming, and ideal for evenings.

Pro Tip:

If you’re cutting back on alcohol, a mug of Chamomile Rose is a satisfying alternative.

How do you make café-style drinks at home?

Make a Latte

  • Brew espresso with a Nespresso capsule.
  • Froth oat milk, whole milk, or an alternative.
  • Pour espresso into a mug, then add milk.
  • Top with foam and finish with cinnamon or cocoa.

Make a Cappuccino

  • Brew one or two espresso shots.
  • Froth milk, keeping it light and airy.
  • Pour espresso into a cup, then spoon foam on top.
  • Add a dusting of cinnamon or chocolate.
