The Space

Imagine a place of absolute privacy, with gorgeous views of the clear, starry desert sky and abundant wildlife. Surrounded by trees, you can relax in the outdoor hammock overlooking the jacuzzi. The mid-century craftsmanship has been lovingly restored, including WiFi and updated appliances.

When you look at this mid-century ranch home, surrounded by Joshua trees on 2.5 acres of land and nestled in the desert solitude of Yucca Valley, you may feel like you’ve been transported to another world.

Pause, Then Reset

Start your day with tranquility and natural light in one of two spacious bedrooms. Outfitted in high-quality furniture and decor, the rooms effortlessly blend mid-century modern style with western accents and bohemian flair.

Enjoy energizing meals in the spacious, sun-drenched kitchen and dining area (seats 6, plus 2 with bar seating) or at the picnic table outside. High ceilings and wood beams add to the airiness and open feel of the space.

Decorated in desert hues like rust and terracotta, The Desert Owl Ranch radiates warmth and evokes the spirit of the southwest.

Flora + Fauna

Ground yourself and get centered in nature every day.

Although we said this home doesn’t have neighbors very close by, that isn’t completely true – a family of adorable flammulated owls lives above the detached garage. Watch them from afar during the warmer months! They depart during the winter months and return around spring.

Every stroll along the property, from morning coffees to heading into town, doubles as an energizing nature walk. Federally protected Joshua Trees dot the property (the ‘leave no trace’ ethos applies here – look but don’t touch!), along with several other plants native to the Mojave Desert. Chollas, barrel cacti, and of course, yuccas are found on the acreage.

Digital Nomads Welcome

Desert Owl Ranch provides the serenity to work and gorgeous views that inspire. Although this is a 1957 build, it’s been retrofitted with modern conveniences, including lightning-fast wifi. Get your best work done in the light-filled office nook. When you’re ready to go offline, your hot tub, Pioneertown, and miles of hiking trails await.

Space is the name of the game here – vast skies and open swaths of desert land offer privacy and peace. Situated off a dirt road near downtown Yucca Valley, you have the option to socialize or catch a show at Pappy’s & Harriet’s, or stay in and work, or stargaze, rest, and restore.
