The fact that Chef Jean Paul Lair’s French cuisine is widely considered perfect and the best in town is a wonderful bonus.

5. Spencer’s

This Coachella Valley staple describes itself as an “adult-oriented restaurant,” meaning visitors may want to grab a sitter before heading to Spencer’s. The Sunday brunch prix fixe includes your choice of an appetizer, entree, and dessert.

Showcasing traditional Provençal cuisine, Farm flawlessly evokes the South of France in the middle of the desert. The transportive garden patio is tucked away from the traffic of downtown Palm Springs and lends a cottage-like ambiance to Lisa Ostoich’s restaurant. This isn’t a brunch to attend if you’re in a hurry– French press coffee, loose-leaf tea, and freshly made-to-order entrees arrive in their own time. Savoring the easygoing European dining experience is key.

Menu favorite: Complete Savory Crêpe (Jambon de Paris Gruyére. Sunny Egg)

7. King’s Highway

The on-site restaurant of the hip Ace Hotel & Swim Club’s desert outpost, King’s Highway blends free-spirited Western vibes with a warm, textured design. We recommend making reservations for Mélange, boutique hotel Chateau Lake La Quinta’s signature restaurant. Holding the bragging rights of the only lakeside dining in La Quinta, Mélange’s patio tends to fill up fairly quickly. However, once you’re in, the majestic views are worth it. Enjoy exquisite new American-style meals from locally-sourced ingredients while taking in mountain and lakeside vistas.
