We all have pain, we all have hopes, and we are all striving for connection. I want to create an experience, a story rather, that binds us at the core, for even just a moment. I had to find escapes, as a child, so I used art. I try to get as naked as possible with each piece, let you know you are not alone.

I’m specifically drawn to themes of sexuality, repression, childhood, and the underbelly of human emotion. Life is multifaceted so I’d like for my work to have duality – playfully provocative and dangerously intimate. I just want to leave the world a bit better than I found it.

Lena Daly

Bryce Belyeu

is an artist living and working in New York City. In his work, Belyeu explores the mechanisms of trauma and its relationship to ego development. Through the use of oil, pastel, graphite, and colored pencil, he creates intricate depictions of the mind and its destructive pursuit of equanimity.

Informed by the Jungian schema of the constellated psyche, Belyeu deconstructs the mind into complexes and associations. These concepts become amorphous collisions of pigment, ensuing networks of ego processes.

We invite you to enjoy Bryce Belyeu’s paintings on display at Washington Way. If you are interested to know more about him as an artist or want to inquire about purchasing the paintings on site, please visit his website or contact Open Air Homes.
