So which are the best sunset spots in LA?

Griffith Observatory

With the city sprawled out below and a clear view of LA right to the ocean, you can soak in the sunset from Griffith Park’s observatory in bliss. This is actually of the top tourist attractions in the region, and a popular filming location. 

Pacific Park

Bring the whole family for a fun-filled day at the amusement park, and top it off by capturing the moment the sun sinks into the horizon. You can watch the LA sunset from any area in the park, be it the dock or at the top of the solar-powered Pacific Wheel, which is a favorite for the magnificent view. 

Topanga Lookout Trailhead

Here, you get 360-degree views of the Santa Monica Mountains and Pacific Ocean, and is a popular spot for hikers and bike riders. You can hit the trail for some exercise and pause at the lookout, or park your car close to the trailhead and watch the sun go over the sea’s edge.

Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook

Your options here are driving up to the top and paying a $2/hour parking fee, hiking from the bottom of the hill through the zigzagging trail, or going right up the stairs for an intensive workout. The idyllic views at the top will be worth it. Starting the hike an hour before sundown will buy you enough time to enjoy the views, flora and fauna on the way up.

The Getty Centre

One of the tallest buildings in LA, the top of Oue Skyspace gives you breath-taking views of the whole LA County area. Head to the open-air observation deck and take in the sights – where the space features floor-to-ceiling windows, then watch the sunset into the horizon. Afterwards, you can take the glass ride down for the adrenaline rush.
